Resident Evil 4
The only good game to come out of the Nintendo Gamecube this year (due to Legend
Of Zelda: Twilight Princess got delayed) just happens to be my game of the year,
Resident Evil 4. Prior to this game I was never interested in the Resident Evil
series. But after playing this game and completing it, I moved backwards and
played the whole series and found that I really love this series. The only bad
thing about this game is the ending. It left it wide open for a Resident Evil
5, and it's driving me nuts because I want more Resident Evil now!!!
Runner Up Games Of The Year
Animal Crossing
Castlevania: Curse Of Darkness
Perfect Dark Zero
Worst Video Game:
Nintendogs
As much time as I spent playing this game it comes to a shock that this
is my worst game of the year. The concept is a good idea, you can raise up to
3 dogs, you can teach them tricks using the Nintendo DS built in microphone,
you can take them for walks, link up with your friends so your pups can play
together but that is not enough for me. After about a week or two, I started
getting really board with the game. There are a few rare items you can find
while out for "walks" like Mario Karts and other toys you can use
to play with your pups but even that gets old and boring about about 30 seconds.
The game might have been really good if they had a lot more mini games, more
things to do with your dogs, and it would have been allot better in it included
the new Nintendo Wi-Fi feature so you can take your dogs and meet other dogs
around the world via the internet.
Best Movie:
Batman Begins:
This years choice was a tough one, but I went with Batman Begins. I was really
worried going in to see this movie after the last two bad batman movies from
the late 90's. But to my surprise this movie made up for all that other crap.
Being able to see how Bruce Wayne became to be Batman really made me look at
Batman allot different. This was a darker Batman movie, even a little darker
then the original Tim Burton Batman movie. The supporting cast of Liam Neeson,
Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and a really good performance by Morgan Freeman made
Batman Begins a really fun and interesting movie to watch again and again. I
know they are planning a sequel and thinking of using the Joker for the next
villain, I just hope they don't take this franchise down in the sewer like they
did in the 90's
Worst Movie:
Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo
Ouch!! That's all I can say about this one. Another great example of
taking a really good movie, and deciding to make a sequel. I wanted to like
this movie, but I couldn't. If you have only seen the first Deuce Bigalow movie,
stay away from this one.
Biggest News Story
Hurricane Katrina:
I don't think I have to go into details with this one. Just remember
its all racist, George Bush hates black people, and the government caused Katrina
and that we bombed the levy's.

Best DVD Release:
Batman Begins:
It's been a long time since I sat and watched all the special features on a
2 disc special edition, but Batman Begins was a very good disc set. The making
of features and other great features made this DVD the DVD release of the Year
Best DVD Box Set:
Batman: The motion picture anthology 1989-1997: This must be the year of the bat I guess you can say.
Warner Brothers finally decided to re-release these dvds with better picture,
sound and loaded each movie with a shit load of special features. I always wanted
to see making of features and behind the scenes of the old Batman movies and
this boxset delivers that. It also includes music videos from each of the movies. Best T.V. DVD Box Set:
He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe Season 1, Box 1
It is great to have the original He-Man series come to DVD. The picture
and sound are great, and makes me feel like a kid again. The special features
are also very good. It has facts and info on each episode and have a few great
features with interview with creators of the series
Worst DVD Of The Year
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith The movie itself was not a bad movie, in fact it was
close to being my movie of the year. The DVD however really did not really impress
me. There were six deleted scenes. The only good one being a 30 second clip
of showing Yoda arriving on Dagobah. The other 5 scenes are mostly involving
the politics of the movie. I was hoping to see maybe another scene with Darth
Vader and the Palpatine at the end, or even the scene where Yoda is able to
talk and see the ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn. There is a 2 hour documentary which
shows what goes thru making a 30 second scene of the movie. I would have rather
had a documentary talking about the making of the entire movie. There is a nice
little documentary about the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker. Also included is a
music video, web documentary and trailers. For the final Star Wars movie I was
expecting a lot more out of the final DVD
Best TV Show
Family Guy
IT'S BACK!!! After a few years of being cancels Fox realized they made a big
mistake and decided to bring back the greatest primetime show of all time. It
is still as funny as it was a few years ago and this time I don't think it will
be going anywhere anytime soon.
Best Album
Billy Corgan - The Future Embrace
The former Smashing Pumpkins singer has finally released his first solo album.
Just like every release since "Mellon Collie" Corgan try's to do something
new and fresh and he did this time as well. More of a techno sound the Future
Embrace is not your hard rock, guitar solos and rocking out album but it is
fun to listen to. The same day as Billy Corgan released his album, he announced
he is planning on starting The Smashing Pumpkins up again. Cant wait for that!
